Austin College offers a wide range of study for music students at all levels of interest including a full major and minor. Although it consists of fewer courses than a music major at a traditional university, the major in music is carefully constructed and has historically prepared students well for graduate study.

Students intending a major in music choose either a General, Music Education, or Composition track, and upper-level electives are chosen in consultation with the student’s mentor and music professors. A major in music with an emphasis in music education can also be combined with the master of arts in teaching, successful completion of which results in All-Level education certification and a masters degree.

Specifics of courses in music and requirements for completion of the music major or music minor can be found through the links on this page or in the college catalog.
